Dear Thiells Families,
With pleasure, pride and excitement, I am writing to introduce myself as the newly appointed Assistant Principal of Thiells Elementary School. I am enthusiastic about assisting Principal Peter DiBernardi in making 2014-2015 a great school year. Through my past experience in the District, I know that people are proud to be a part of the Thiells Elementary School Community. The partnerships among the dedicated staff, faculty, families and community are evident and play a pivotal role in responding to the needs of every child that attends Thiells Elementary School. I am eager to be a part of this positive school culture and forge strong connections to ensure the best education possible for our students.
I have worked in the North Rockland Central School District for the past 16 years in various positions including Reading Teacher, Classroom Teacher, Literacy Specialist, and Interim Assistant Principal at Haverstraw Middle School and Farley Elementary School. I served my administrative internship with Principal DiBernardi and therefore know first hand how much he cares about the students and how productive and rewarding it is to work with him. I feel fortunate to already know many of you, and for those of you that I have not yet met, I am looking forward to fostering new relationships with you and your child. I was born and raised in Rockland County and now live here with my family. I graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, received my Master’s Degree in Reading from Saint Thomas Aquinas College, and obtained my Educational Leadership Administrative Credentials from The College of Saint Rose.
I sincerely appreciate your dedication to our students. You have my full commitment to ensuring that your students receive the best education possible.I feel fortunate and honored to have been appointed Assistant Principal at such a wonderful school with a child-centered approach that truly makes it a caring and supportive environment to learn.
Please feel free to stop at my office to say hello, as my door is always open! I wish your family an enjoyable summer and look forward to ensuring great success for your students during the next school year.
